Strength training should do more than improve strength- it should improve performance. For Kickers and Punters “functional” strength training should focus on training their entire body the very same way it is used during competition. The key is to design a training program that truly focuses on their skills. This can be done by using specific exercises that train the muscles the very same way they are used when kicking and punting the football.
